A Vice President at a US Investment Bank based in the City of London

As a technically trained person, we worked on exploring some of the “softer” elements of the work environment. My needs drove the plan, and over the sessions, we explored issues such as techniques to help engage effectively with team members – as a leader of a virtual team, as a woman and a person of colour.  We also discussed the best approaches for being influential in a project-based team which was focused on time-sensitive delivery and involved engaging with a very different business culture from the UK.  This resulted in me slotting into a co-ordination role which complemented the rest of the team’s skills and allowed us to work seamlessly together.  It was useful/helpful/thought-provoking/practical and delivered in a manner that was natural/engaging/creative, allowing me to be open and authentic.

A Corporate and External Relations Head of a small energy-based start-up

Coaching from Sheldon has helped me to understand my relationship-building strengths, and how to leverage them to more effectively influence and engage with key audiences and deliver on business objectives. Our sessions were designed to generate innovative ways of thinking, with constructive challenges to help explore different perspectives for non-technical risk analysis and management. Sheldon would provide support for pressing concerns while creating space and offering guidance for me to develop my unique ways for overcoming complex challenges. It has been extremely valuable having an independent, experienced voice who understands the global energy business to help support my professional development and focused on helping me succeed.

An accountant and manager at a “Top 20” accounting firm

We worked on managing my presence and confidence at work. Through our coaching sessions, I felt I gained insight into myself, helped shift my perspective on work-related interactions and focus my attention on my unique value and skillset to the organisation. By understanding the strengths, I brought to work; we were able to focus and nurture the way I can be most powerful as a contributor at work. The sessions were relaxed but business-focused. They were relevant to me and my goals. Each session, I took away a fresh mindset, a determination and drive to push myself, backed up with additional tools to achieve my goals.
